During radiation, your skin needs TLC too.
Perhaps the most common side effect during radiation therapy is skin reaction. Depending on the site where you are being treated, skin reactions can range in their intensity. Areas where you are at higher risk of having a significant skin reaction are places where there are creases of folds in your skin (e.g., underneath the breast, between the buttocks, or in the groin region.)
There are a number of creams and salves which can greatly help with decreasing the severity of radiation skin reactions. An example of a few are pictured.
